In the evening of October 24th, Hyoyeon and SNSD pulled off a great performance at the “Kia Motor’s Unity Hope Dream Concert” held at Sangmu Public Park, West Gwangju. One particular aspect which attracted the attention of many is Hyoyeon’s seductive smile.

The concert saw participation of various artists such as SNSD, Secret, Infinite, SG Wannabe, etc. At the concert, SNSD also talked about their upcoming 3rd mini album “Hoot”.

[News] SNSD speaks at ‘G20 Star Supporters’ promotional event


After being appointed as honorary “G20 Star Supporters“, SNSD set out on October 25th to participate in “Speak At the Top of G20“, a campaign activity aiming to promote the G20 summit to youths.

Due to their various Japanese promotions, the girls were unable to attend the ceremony last week; consequently, this will be their first official activity as G20 summit supporters.

Speaking at the Coex Millennium Plaza, all 9 ladies utilized various video footages and pictures to help deliver their messages in a more personal way to their target audience.

SNSD stated, “We were extremely glad whenever we heard that fans became interested in Korea through our overseas activities. We hope that this summit will allow more people to learn about Korea.

[News] SNSD’s Yuri wrote a song for “Hoot” mini-album

SNSD’s Yuri hidden songwriting abilities have been revealed! Apparently, she participated in both the behind-the-scenes and delivery of SNSD’s latest mini-album, “Hoot“.

“Hoot” consists of five very different songs and features efforts from many famous producers and writers such as Wheesung, Jinu, Kenzie, and Hwang Hyun.

Member Yuri wrote the lyrics for “It’s My Fault,” SNSD’s first ever R&B ballad track. The lyrics feature the sweet emotions and feelings of a young girl.

Other tracks include “First Snowfall..,” SNSD’s love song for young couples in the winter time, and “Best Friend,” a track that expresses the love and friendship between the members of SNSD. “Wake Up” declines in a more melancholic mood through sad lyrics being delivered to a loved one.

We can’t wait to hear what Yuri and the ladies have got in store for us! “Hoot” is scheduled for release on October 27th and the girls will start full promotions 2 days later.

[News] What Fans Can Expect From SNSD’s Upcoming Mini Album + Full Audio of ‘Hoot’


SNSD’s third mini album, Hoot, which is scheduled to release on the 27th, has been garnering attention after it was revealed to include a song written by member Yuri.

This 5-track mini album will show off a new side of SNSD, as well as their improved vocals.Wheesung, Jinu, Kenzie, HwangHyun, and other famous songwriters have taken part in this album.

The title song Hoot had an early release on the 25th through various music sites. The song has a retro guitar sound, giving it an upbeat pop dance song. The lyrics contains a cute warning towards a boyfriend that makes your heart hurt as if it was shot with an arrow.

The teaser video for the single was released on the 24th through YouTube and other portal sites. After the explosive responses from fans, many are already anticipating a new syndrome to take place.

Another song included on the album is Mistake, which is one that was written by SNSD’s very own Yuri. The idol’s first written song contains pretty lyrics that are filled with a young girl’s feelings. This will be SNSD’s first attempt at a traditional R&B song.

The song Snowy Wish is a love song from the group to couples that spend the first snowfall together. It recreates the feeling of snow falling with the pretty melody. My Best Friend is a more upbeat, cheerful song, expressing the friendship and love between SNSD members. Wake Up will be an emotion-filled song about sending a sad message to a lover. Fans will be able to see and hear the various charms from group.

The full audio for Hoot has also been released, leaving fans in greater anticipation for what is to come.


SNSD will be making their official comeback on the 29th through KBS 2TV Music Bank, attacking the Korean music market with Hoot and the Japanese market with Gee.

[News]Oricon predicted SNSD and KARA for Kohaku


Oricon has just released their prediction for this year’s Kohaku Uta Gussen! Kohaku Uta Gussen, also known simply as Kohaku, is a prestigious music show broadcasted yearly on New Year’s Eve. Only the most popular artists of the year are invited by NHK, the broadcasting company, and it is said that attending Kohaku is a big highlight in an artist’s career.

According to Oricon’s prediction, KARA and SNSD may have a chance at being invited this year! The two groups have made remarkable progress in their Japan debut. Currently, SNSD is #2 on the Oricon Daily Charts with their 2nd Japanese single,
Gee, having approximately 35,000 units sold so far. KARA’s most recent Japan release, Best 2007-2010, ranked #2 in the weekly rankings with 51,000 units of their album sold. In the past, KARA has also mentioned that it was one of their dreams to be invited to Kohaku. Will their dreams come true this year?

Past Korean artists that have been invited to Kohaku includes BoA, who has been invited 6 times, TVXQ, who has been invited twice, and Ryu, who has been invited once.
